TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran exports over $2 billion nut to 50 countries annually.

The clients are Germany, US, France, Italy, England, Spain, Sweden and Norway.

Iran produces 200.000 tons of pistachio, 160.000 tons of 150.000 tons of walnut, 1.200 million tons of date, 35.000 tons of dried fig, 50.000 tons of almonds, 330.000 tons of beans, 90.000 tons of lentils, 300.000 tons of peas and 270 tons of saffron annually.

Iran stands second in the world in terms of producing pistachio and date, fourth in terms of producing almonds and raisins, third in producing walnut and fifth in producing hazelnut.
